巨人 Gulliver's Travels

今日はSawgrass Mill Mall  へ映画　「Gulliver's Travels」を観に行きました。

ガリバー旅行記として一番おなじみの小人の国に行く話を現代版にし、

主演Jack Blackらしいコメディー映画で楽しめました!!

We went to movies at Sawgrass Mill Mall and watched "Gulliver's Travels".

This movie is a family comedy to take on the classic tale.

ガリバー旅行記と言えば、子供の頃誰でも一度は読んだことのある話だと思いますが

その大部分が最初の2編（リリパット国渡航記とブロブディンナグ国渡航記）

のみ収録されており, 4編を通して読んだ人は以外に少ないと思います。

 "Gulliver's travels" is a famous story that anyone has read in childhood.

Most of  the books, only two parts are collected 

(a voyage to Lilliput and a voyage to Brobdingnag ).

Mommy think there are few people who read the whole book( through four parts)

物を知らないマミィは、夢のある児童文学かと 思っていましたが

1726年出版当時から、大ベストセラーになり、不朽の風刺文学と言われているそうです。

確かに、映画もコメディーでありながら風刺のスパイスが効いていました。

お勧めです!

Mommy who is not knowledgeable thought this book is juvenile literature

.....but the fact....

the book became tremendously popular as soon as it was published in 1726,　

and is called immortal satire.

As for this movie, it is comedy but the spice of satire works.

Sawgrass Mill Mall はアフタークリスマスセールで人、人、人。。。

早々に家に戻り、待ちかねていたレアの散歩に出ようとしたら

道にあふれかえっていたこの鳥、鳥、鳥。。。。。

In the Mall, people crowded for shopping after Christmas sale.

After returning home, when Lea went for a walk, birds crowded on the street.

鳥の名前はわかりませんが、カラスを小ぶりにしたような黒い鳥です。

さすがにたくさんいたのでちょっと不気味でしたが

散歩に出たレアが近づいて行くと一斉に飛び立ち、屋根や樹の上に避難します。

きっと鳥にとってレアは、巨人Lemuel Gulliver なのでしょうね。

This bird looks like a small crow.

The state was weird because there were many birds.

When Lea approached, the birds flew away all at once.

Lea is a Giant like "Lemuel Gulliver " for them.

“巨人じゃないわよ!　失礼ね!!”　ご立腹のレア。

そうでした。レアはリリパット国のプリンセスでした。。。。。

" I am not Giant ! Rude!!"

Of course not ! You are a princess of Lilliput.
