Lea's Diary -from America-: 夏の旅行・ミュージアム　NY day 4

最終日です。

ボーイズの強い希望で吉野家に行きました。

Beef Bowl （牛丼）は日本で食べるより、少し薄味？

玉ねぎの切り方が厚めなのか、肉にとけ込んでいなくて存在感がありました。

これもフロリダでは食べられない味です。。。。

Boys really wanted to eat Beef bowl at Yoshinoya.

It tasted bland a little

and onion were sliced thicker than Japanese beef bowl.

It didn't match with beef.

However, we can't eat this in Florida.

今日は映画「Night at the Museum」でおなじみの

National History Museum に行きました。

入口付近がリノベーション中で、外観の写真がきれいに撮れませんでした。

We went to American Museum of National History,
a well-known museum on the movie "Night at the Museum"
Unfortunately, the entrance was under renovation.

入館してすぐ目に入るのがこの恐竜の骨。

This eye-catcher is so big.

動物園のように哺乳類、鳥類、爬虫類などの剝製が展示され

The first floor was like a zoo.
The various stuffed bodies of animals are on exhibit in each window.

水族館のように海の生き物が飾られていました。

This place was like an aquarium.

人間の進化の展示。

The explanation of human evolution.

世界各地の古い遺跡や土器、武器などの展示。

They collected many earthenware, remains, weapon......etc
from around the world.

世界各国の文化の説明。

Exhibition of the culture of the each country.

土壌についての説明や、色々な種類の石の展示

とにかく数え切れません。。。

Explanation of our environment.
There were countless rare minerals and jewelry.
This stone, named Stibnite, seemed to stick a lot of sticks of steel in the rock.

気がつくともう2時間、でもまだ半分しか見れてません。。。

「Dinosaur は絶対見たい!」と言う下の子のために3階を飛ばして急いで4階へ。

ここにも数え切れないほどの恐竜の化石がありました。

一生懸命見学していた下の子は

「大きくなったら考古学者になろうかなー」と言っていました。

ミュージアムの展示物が夢を与えてくれたのですね。

Mommy noticed, two hours already passed but we finished only half of exhibition.

Younger boy wanted to watch the Dinosaur.

We skipped third floor and went to fourth floor.

There were countless fossil on this floor.

After younger boy watched them, he said "I wanna be archaeologist”

This museum gave him a dream.

3階の宇宙関係の展示は時間に余裕がなく見ることができませんでした。

でも一つだけ、どうしてもボーイズが見たい物がありました。

それがこれです。

We didn't have enough time to watch the exhibit of space,
but boys really wanted to see something.

This is it.

映画ですっかり有名になったGum Gumです。

展示室の奥にひっそりといましたが、次々と写真を撮る人たちがやってきました。

"Hey, Dum-dum!. You give me gum-gum."

"I have no gum-gum, sorry. And my name isn't Dum-dum."

He didn't stand conspicuous place but

many people came and took a picture in sequence.

ミュージアムを出て、南へ歩き72nd ST にあるダコタハウス前です。

1980年12月8日、このアパートの前でジョンレノンは射殺されました。

マミィは当時、このニュースを聞いてショックを受けたことを覚えています。

1884年に建てられたこの建物は

マンハッタンで最も古いアパートメントで、なんと外灯はガス灯でした。

We left museum and walked toward south till 72nd St.

This is the Dakota House where John Lennon had lived until he was killed by a crazed fan.

そのままセントラルパークの中へ入って行くと、

ストロベリーフィールドがあり、Imagine の碑の周りには大勢の人が集まっていました。

たくさんの献花と線香がたかれていました。

There is Strawberry Field in Central Park near Dakota House.

A lot of people visit the monument of Imagine and put flowers on it every day.

We smelled of the incense sticks.

5th Ave に抜けるためパークを歩いて行きました。

ここは本当にマンハッタンの中心かと思うほど、緑でいっぱいです。

映画「Madagascar」に出てくる動物園もあり

馬車も走っていました。

We walked through the park to 5th Ave.

A lot of green, famous horses and carriage,

and there is the zoo, a well-known on "Madagascar"

5th Ave に出て、南にあるいて行くと

上の子がどうしても来たかったApple Storeがあります。

Older boy wanted to go Apple Store on 5th Ave.

しかし残念なことに改装中

ガラスの建物が覆われてイグルーみたいになっていました。。。。。

ガラスのエレベーターで下へ降りると

店舗内は他店と同様混んでいました。

Unfortunately, the building was under renovation.

What a pity!!

He was not able to see the structure made of glass.

It looked like igloo.

ちょうどApple Store の後ろにあるFAO Schwarz

ボーイズが小さい時訪れたラスベガス店には大きなトロイの木馬があり

ボーイズも強く印象のあるおもちゃ屋さんです。

色々な映画でおなじみですが、この夏公開の「SMURFS」でも使われています。

We visited the Toy shop FAO Schwarz that is behind the Apple store.
This store is used often in the various movies.

"SMURFS" is the newest.

最近はゲームショップばかりですが

久しぶりのToy Storeでボーイズが見つけた懐かしい物がこれ。

日本でシルバニアファミリーと言われている物です。

幼稚園の頃ボーイズが二人ともはまっていて

写真と同じ”緑色の屋根の家”も持っています。

「新しい家族が増えてる～」と言っていました。

The things that boys found in here, is
"Calico Critters" that they collected many dolls when they are kindergartener.
They have same "the green roof house"
"Look! new family!!"

下のフロアーはCandy Shop になっていました。

Jerry Bean で出来た巨大な兵隊さん。

大の大人が真剣に遊んでいました。

そしてオリジナルのMuppet が作れるコーナーもありました。
