片付けと飾り付け cleanup & decoration

下の子の庭掃除の担当はパームツリーの種子の片付け

たくさんついているのですが

木がとても高く切り落とす事はできません。

Younger boy did the cleaning of palm tree seeds.

The tree has a lot of seeds, 

but it's so high and impossible to cut the branch.

レアとマミィはクリスマスの飾り付け

去年は飾れなかった家族のストッキングも

今年はここに飾りました。

Lea and mammy decorated Christmas ornaments.

The family stockings that were not decorated last year

were hung on the stairs.

そして、マミィのハワイアンキルトも

ダディが苦労して飾ってくれました。

Daddy hung mommy's hawaiian quilt on the wall.

コーヒーテーブル用のガラストップもオーダーし

ここにもクリスマスキルトが入りました。

The glass top of coffee table was delivered yesterday.

Mommy put Christmas quilt on it.

クリスマスまであと１６日！

DIY home improvement

アメリカはとにかく労働費が高い

なので家の修理や簡単なリフォームはお父さんのお仕事

American daddy does home improvement because labor cost of U.S is expensive.

今までレアのダディは決してDIY好きではなかったのですが

引っ越しをしてからは、こんな本を見ながら色々挑戦

レアもお手伝い

Lea's daddy was not DIY guy so far,  

after moving, he challenges it while he reading this book.

今日は屋根裏にのぼりエアーダクトの修理

Daddy is in attic for repairing air duct.

シャワーヘッドの交換

Daddy is in shower room for changing shower head.

そしてシーリングファンの取り付け、と色々。

ダディすごい！

Daddy is in bedroom for installation ceiling fun.

Good work, daddy!

とにかく寒い。 freezing

最低気温は氷点下、最高気温も１０度ぐらいと今日も寒い！

道路の凍結に注意が必要とのこと

The temperature dropped the below freezing,

daytime maximum temperature is around 50 °F.

It sure is cold today!

caution needed about black ice.

マミィはお散歩に行くのに重装備で

Mommy wore down jacket for a walk.

レアは寒がりなのに、お散歩は楽しいらしい

Lea is cold-natured, but it seems to be in different league for her to go for a walk.

日本のケーキ？ not Japanese bakery

マミィは今日クパティーノでワークショップがあり

その帰りに新しく出来たベーカリーLa Terraでケーキを買いました。

Mommy went to Cupertino for workshop today.

After that, she went to new bakery "La Terra"

モンブランはクリームは美味しかったそうですが

土台はスポンジではなくクッキー？タルト？でちょっと残念。

ショートケーキのスポンジもしっとりしていなくてパサついておりかなり残念。

スタンフォードのLa Baguette の方が絶対に美味しい。

She bought Mont Blanc and Strawberry shortcake.

Mont Blanc cream is delicious but tart pastry is so so.

About shortcake, it's a dry cake......

Lea recommended "La Baguette" of Stanford shopping center.

日本のベーカリーと聞いていたのですが、期待はずれでした。

値段も高いし、またわざわざ行く事はなさそうです。

The shop is not really Japanese bakery, also, the price is high.

It's disappointing 

寒くなる cold snap

レアの新しい散歩コースは大きなグランドです。

Lea's new walking course is huge ground.

レアもトラックを疾走！

Lea runs on the track!

ベイエリアに一時的寒波がやってくるそう

お散歩も寒い季節に突入です！

Bay area will go through cold snap this week.

シャーク！ not Shark, just vacuum cleaner

レアも大人になったので、以前は戦いを挑んでいた掃除機にも

微妙な距離を保ちやり過ごすようになりました。

 Lea is mature enough to deal with vacuum cleaner.

しかし。。。。

今日は外で何かを発見したらしい。。。

But.....

Lea found something in backyard.

プールの底に動く物体を見つけたレア

慎重に覗き込んでは、様子をうかがっていました。

Lea gazes into the depth of the pool carefully.

大丈夫。シャークではありません。

プールの中の掃除機です。

Don't worry Lea.

It's not a shark, is vacuum cleaner of pool.

近くなった became far and near

今週マミィは毎日キルトがあり

今日はサンフランシスコへ行ってきました。

サンフランシスコは少しだけ遠くなりました。

Mommy has the lesson of Hawaiian Quilt every day this week.

She went to San Francisco today.

レアはボーイズのゴルフの練習に行きました。

ゴルフコースは新しい家のすぐ裏。

近くなったので頑張って練習してほしいですね。

Lea went to golf course for boys practicing.

The course is very near to new house.

Practice hard!




今日は下の子の大好きなRory が久しぶりに優勝しました。

Rory McIlory win for first time in a year.
