ヨセミテ Glacier point ～ Falls

ヨセミテバレーが見降ろせるグレイシアポイント

谷底までは約1000mだそうで

高いところが苦手な下の子がちょっと恐がっていました。

 Glacier point is the scenic point where you can look down at Yosemite valley.

Younger boy who is afraid of heights, was scared to look down. 

なぜか２が薄くなってましたが、

海抜7214フィート(約2000m)とありました。

Elevation above sea 7214 feet.

ヨセミテ花崗岩が何度も氷河作用で侵食され

この景色が出来上がったのだそうです。

Repeated glaciations eroded valleys, steepened granite walls, 

and sculpted many of the dramatic landforms we see today.

また山間道を下り一時間

ブライダルベールという滝に到着。

この時期は水量が最も少ないのですが、かろうじて枯渇していませんでした。

「危ないよ～」という表示にも関わらずみんなぞろぞろと

大きな石の間を渡り滝壺まで・・・ダディとボーイズも挑戦。

 

Next session is visit to falls.

First is Bridalveil Fall.

There was a sign "Danger" but visitors climbed rocks and went to under the fall.

Daddy & boys went, too.

ブライダルベールの反対側に大きくそびえるのがエルキャピタン

一番高いところは900mもある 花崗岩として世界最大の一枚岩

この絶壁を何日もかけてロッククライマーは登るのだそうです。

The granite extends about 3,000 feet from base to summit along its tallest face, 

and is one of the world's favorite challenges for rock climbers.

次はカレービレッジからバーナル滝を目指します。

グレイシアポイントからも見ることができた滝です。

滝まで行くのはとても大変なので、滝が見える橋まで向かいました。

Second is Vernal Fall that you can see it from Glacier point.d.

Their destination is the bridge because the trail to climb to a fall is very hard.

トレイルの入り口から約30分

ひたすら山道を登り続けると橋があり、滝を見ることができます。

Keep going, keep going! they climbed.  

There is the bridge that they were able to see the Vernal Fall 

about 30 minutes from the entrance of trail .

小雨が降り始めたので、急いでトレイルを下り

ロッジへ戻りました。
  今夜はロッジのレストランでディナーです

It has begun to small rain, they returned to the lodge 

and ate dinner at the Mountain restaurant.

お味は隣の食堂とあまり違いはないかもしれません・・・

The taste were almost same as the menu of the next door dining room.

よく歩いた一日でした！
