フロリダも州知事候補2名、上院議員候補3名が注目されています。
今回は３７州の知事選が行われています。

アメリカは三権分立がはっきりしています。
立法～Legislative, 行政～Executive, 司法～Judicial
立法府の連邦議会は上院と下院から成り立っていています。
上院議員は各州より2名選出され、合計100名、任期は6年。
3つのグループに分けられ2年ごとに１/３ずつ改選されますが何度でも再選が可能。
下院議員は合計435名で、各州の人口に応じて人数が決まります。
任期は2年ですが何度でも再選可能。

The Constitution divides the government into three branches.
They are the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.
The legislative branch makes laws for the nation.
The main lawmaking body of this branch is known as Congress.
Congress is made up of two parts, the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Each states sends 2 people to the Senate, so there are a total of 100 senators.
Each senator serves a term of 6 years.
The Constitution divides the Senate into three groups.
Every 2 years, one of the three groups (one-third of the Senate) is up for reelection.
There is no limit on the number of terms a senator can serve.
In the House, representation is based on the number of people living in each state.
There are a total of 435 representatives in the House.
Each representative serves a term of 2 years.
There is no limit on the number of terms a representative can serve.
