今日は朝からサウスフロリダ全域に濃霧注意報が出されました。
濃霧注意報とは、視界が時々1/4マイル未満になることです。
運転はゆっくりと走り 、ヘッドライト付け、車間距離をしっかり保つことが大切です。
Dense fog advisory was given for all of S.Florida this morning.
A Dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced
to less than one quarter mile.

If driving.....slow down, use your headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead.
霧はどうやって発生するのでしょうか？
今回は放射霧と言うタイプと思われます。
日中に暖められた地面から放射熱が出され、
日没から夜間（晴れている場合は特に）大気の気温が下がり
地面が冷やされることで、大気中の水分が霧になります。
How does a fog happen?
Radiation fog is formed by the cooling of land after sunset
by thermal radiation in calm conditions with clear sky.
The cool ground produces condensation in the nearby air by heat conduction.
Radiation fog occur at night, and usually do not last long after sunrise.

雲と霧は何が違うのでしょうか？

基本的に霧は雲と同じだそうです。
簡単にいえば、登山中、視界を妨げる霧は
山の下から見ている人は、山に雲がかかっていると思います。
つまり地面に接しているものが霧、大気中に浮かんでいるものが雲となります。
Fog is essentially a cloud that is on the ground.
The fog that a person climbing a mountain thinks, is the cloud
that a person looks up at from the base of mountain.
雲にも色々な種類がありますね。
これは先日見かけたイワシ雲（鱗雲とも言う）です。
There are various kinds of a cloud.
This is the cirrocumulus cloud that Lea found the other day.
Japanese call this cloud "Sardine cloud" because it looks like the school of small fish.
”このお魚、空から捕ってきたの？”
いえいえこれはお店で買ってきました。。。。
それにこれは、イワシではなくシシャモです。。。。。
"Did you get these fishes from sky?"
No way! mommy bought it at grocery store....
.....and that it's not a Sardine, it's a Shishamo smelt.
