今日は子供の日、端午の節句です。
季節感が無いので少し飾り物をしています。
May 5th is Children's Day in Japan.
It was traditionally a festival for boys known as "Tango no Sekku."
This national holiday was established in 1948
to promote the happiness and well-being of all children.
ハワイでは、庭に鯉のぼりを立てていましたがボーイズも大きくなりしまったままだったので、風通しをしようと出してみました。初めて見るレアは興味深々です。
On this day, families often fly carp streamers outside their homes
to represent strength and success
because the carp is a symbol of a successful career.
こちらもちょっと気になるようです。
Some also display warrior dolls or miniature armor in their homes.
子供の日と言えば柏餅でも柏の葉も手に入らないので、みたらし団子を作りました。餅子を耳たぶぐらいの硬さにこね、お団子に丸めて沸騰したお湯に入れ浮き上がったら5分ほどゆでて出来上がり。
There are also other customs associated with the day.
Japanese eat rice cakes wrapped in oak leaves called "Kashiwamochi".
However, mommy can't get it, she made rice cakes with sauce called "Mitarashi dango."
たれは醤油と砂糖と片栗粉今日は片栗粉がなかったのでコーンスターチを使いました。
Mommy used corn starch for making sauce.
レアも少しだけおすそわけをいただきました。
Lea also tried one bite.
さて、小腹も満たされたのでお散歩にいざ出陣！！

残念。今日はずっと雨模様でいけません。。。。

日本各地から被災地に向けたくさんの鯉のぼりが寄付されたようです。復興への希望になってほしいですね。
From many places around Japan toward disaster area, many carp streamers were contributed.It will be hope to reconstruction.
