いよいよサウスフロリダにも秋の到来です。

今日の日中の気温は80°F(25℃)を下回ります。

夜にはもっと冷え込み、明日の朝には50°F(12℃)近くにまで下がるそうです。

NYCに遊びに行っているキルトの生徒さんから

水曜日まで空港閉鎖で 足止めされていると連絡がありましたが

大丈夫？

The student of Quilt class going out to NYC sent an email to mommy,

she is not able to come back to Miami because of the airport closedown until Wednesday.

先日24日はマミィとダディの結婚記念日でした。

ダディの退職という大きな変化の中で迎えた記念日。

19年、あっという間だったような気がします。

The other day, October 24th was a wedding anniversary of mommy and Daddy.

They reached the day in a big change.

For 19 years, .....not so long.

 

嫁入り道具というほどのものではありませんが

マミィが独身時代から使っていたキッチン用品。

These kitchen goods that mommy brought when they got married.

フロリダに来てすぐ、レアがカジカジしてしまったのですが

特に壊れないのでずっと使っています。

The family came to Florida, Lea nibbled it soon,

but mommy still uses it because it is not broken.

そしてキッチンバサミ

これが本日ついに壊れました。。。

柄の所に疲労骨折の様なヒビが入っていたのですが

ついに折れてしまいました。。。

This scissors, it was broken at last today....

It already had many cracks on handles.

20年近く良く働いてくれました。

色々と心機一転かな？

ダディの仕事も、住むところも・・・

It was very useful for about 20 years.

Everything........it's time to change?

マミィはBroward college で行われたFamily Central Expo のお手伝いに出かけました。

学校にかかわる各団体がブースを出して情報を提供します。

Ohana Arts では子供たちにフラをはじめとするハワイの文化を

教えている事を紹介しました。

マミィのキルトや、ダディが撮ってくれたＤＶＤも活躍

Mommy went to Broward college for helping Family Central Expo.

Ohana Arts introduced that they taught Hawaiian culture at school

Mommy's quilt was displayed, 

and DVD daddy shot before was very helpful.

そして夜はフラショーで初ファイアー

無事終了。

お疲れ様でした。

At night, mommy went to Hula show and did first fire dance.

All done! Good job!

風が。。。 windy week

熱帯性低気圧Sandy の影響で今週はとても風が強い。

夕方お散歩に出たら、空一面こんな雲。

もうすぐ11月なので、クリスマスキルトに取りかかる方もいます。

Today was Quilt class.

Mommy cut a new pattern including Christmas Quilt.

生徒さんのキルトをピローケースに仕立てたので

今日は二つ揃ってお持ち帰りです。

Mommy made quilt that her student made, into pillow case.

昨日、ついにApple が 7.9インチタブレットのiPad mini をアナウンスしました。

At last, Apple’s introduced 7.9-inch iPad mini yesterday.

 

スティーブジョブズ氏は7インチタブレットは

使い物にならないと拒んでいたそうですが、

もしジョブズ氏がいたら。。。といつまでも亡きカリスマ経営者と

比較されるクック氏も気の毒なような気がします。

討論会 debate

大統領選を2週間後に控え、昨日はBoca Raton で

三回目最後の討論会が行われました。

有権者の最大の関心事は経済問題ですが

オバマ大統領は教育問題への対策を強調し

実業家でもあるロムニー氏は中小企業振興策などを提案しました。

Presidential election is coming two weeks later....

the last debate was held yesterday at Lynn University, in Boca Raton.

The biggest of concern of voters is economic problem. 

President Obama emphasized the measures to an educational issue.

Mr. Romney that was a businessman suggested 

medium and small-sized business promotion plans.

あまり政治のことに興味があるように見えないボーイズですが

討論会はしっかりとYoutubeでチェックしているらしく

今回はオバマ大統領が良かったと言い

口をそろえてロムニー氏はいやだと言っています。

Mommy thought that boys were not interested in politics, but

they checked the debates in Youtube.

They said President Obama was better this time,

and said unanimously that I don't like Mr. Romney.

さて、どちらに軍配が上がるんでしょうか？

習うより・・ first drive

今日は上の子のドライブで近所のIKEA へ行きました。

昨日、90分ほど教えてもらっただけだったのですが

なかなかスムーズに運転出来ました。

 

The family went to IKEA by the drive of older son.

He learned how to drive only 90 minutes yesterday, but

his driving was good.

後部座席に座っていたマミィの方がナーバスだったかも？？

Mommy who sat on the back seat, might be more nervous than him. ..?

ゲームのシミュレーションで慣れているとは今の子供らしい発言ですが

あくまでも現実は違うので、気をつけて欲しいものです。。。

今日は車の少ない駐車スペースを選んでパーキングも無事に出来ました。

He had many driving experience in the games world...

Yes, he is really a teenager of today.

The reality is different from simulation, please be careful.

He could park a car safely.

下の子は今日はしり込みをして運転しませんでしたが、

何事も「習うより慣れろ 」でしょうか。

少しずつ、練習して下さい。

Younger boy didn't drive on the back foot.

お疲れ様でした。 The last day

 今日はダディの出社最終日のお祝いです。

Daddy & mommy had a glass of wine tonight,

because today is the last day reporting to his office.

色々考えて。。。このままアメリカで生活を続けていくため

今月いっぱいでダディは会社を辞めるという大きな決断をしたのです。

四半世紀という長い年数、お疲れ様でした。

Daddy made up his mind to leave the company to continue living in U.S.A.

He worked in the company for 25 years.

次のステップに進むため、家族みんなで頑張ります！！

Daddy has decided to take on a new challenge

the family will support him for better future.

運転免許 driver's license

フロリダ州では、15歳から運転免許を取ることが出来ます。

最初にDrug&Alcohol Course をオンラインで4時間勉強、修了証がおくられてきます。

その後、基本的ルールなど勉強してテスト。これも全て自宅でオンライン。

８０％以上の正解で合格です。ボーイズは一応一発で合格しました！！

とういう事で、本日、見事運転免許証取得！！

In Florida...not have any trouble getting learner's license.

 First of all, they study Drug&Alcohol Course by online for four hours

and get a certification.

After that, they study learner's permit exam and take a exam by online.

Boys passed it at once  ! Daddy & Mommy are proud of you ♡

They got learner's license today.

いや！実技は？運転の練習は？

ボーイズが取った免許証はLearner's License といって

21歳以上の大人が一緒に乗車して運転ができるというものです。

日本の様に自動車教習所などはないので、この免許を取ってから

親などと一緒に実際に路上で運転をしながら、慣れるっていうことなんですが

こわい。。。

They have to drive with supervisor who is older than 21 during daytime.

ボーイズの場合は2ブレーキを装備した車で

個人レッスンをしてくれる所に依頼しました。

土曜日に初ドライブ!! 頑張れボーイズ！！

秋冬物 autumn collection

実際は、まだまだ半袖と短パンで過ごす気候なのですが

どこのお店も、秋冬物の洋服が並べられるようになりました。

ワンコのセーターも売られていましたが

マイアミで必要とするワンコがいるかどうか？？

Actually, people still wear T-shirts & half pants and sandals.

In the shop,  clothes for autumn and winter are displayed recently.

Mommy found a sweater for dog, 

but there is not able to be dogs which needs sweater in South Florida.

ちょっと秋らしいドレッシーなワンピースを見つけたので購入しました。

良くお似合い！！

Mommy bought a dress for Lea .

裏地もかわいいので、リバーシブルで着れちゃうかも♡ 

The lining is cute too, Lea may be able to wear it as reversible dress.
