今朝、早くからロサンジェルスに向け出発

UCLA 校内にある日本庭園のボランティアをしている友人に頼まれ

マミィはチャリティーフラを行いました。

司会はプロのトニーさん

The family went to LA early this morning,

because mommy helped charity hula show at VA Japanese garden

where mommy's friend volunteers.

with MC Tony.

募金を集めるためにマミィが用意した景品のアロハ楊枝

これからも定期的に行いたいそうですが、

ちょっと遠いのでマミィがお手伝いするのはちょっと難しいかな？

Mommy made giveaway for collecting donation.

The volunteers are going to held some show on a regular basis from now on.

However, mommy is not able to help it every time,

because this place is not near her.

ルナちゃん所にお停まりしているレアはかなりくつろげるようになったようです。

Lea became to be able to relax at Luna's house.

大喜び！ yay!

明日から３連休で、SanDiego の方へ出かけます。

冷蔵庫にキュウリがあまっていたので、悪くなる前にピクルスにしました。

Because three-day weekend from tomorrow,

the family will go to San Diego.

Mommy found cucumber in fridge, she made pickles.

レアはキュウリが大好きなので、切る音をききつけキッチンへ

キュウリをもらって大喜び！

Because Lea likes cucumber, she cached the sound of cutting cucumber,

and came in the kitchen.

She got a piece of cucumber.......Yay!

明日の朝は早く家を出るので

レアは今日からルナちゃんのお家にお泊まりです。

お停まりセットを用意すると、

お出かけ〜とまた、大喜び！

The family is going to leave the house early in the morning,

Lea went to Luna's house for sleepover from tonight.

Lea found her overnight kit.......Yay! outing!!

ルナちゃんの家にもすっかり慣れたようで

早速ご飯も頂いておりました。。。。。って

それ、ルナちゃんのご飯。。。(- -;)

Lea got used to stay in Luna's house,

and she ate her meal joyfully......Yay!

She must have been excited, eating Luna's meal too.......

上出来！ sweet strawberry

アメリカのイチゴは日本の2倍ぐらいの大きさで

果肉はスカスカのカスカス、甘くない。。。

練乳をつけなければ食べられた物ではなかったけれど

最近売られているイチゴはサイズが小ぶりになり

果肉もジューシーで甘みもあるような気がします。

The American strawberry was twice the size of Japanese.

The pulp was not sweet, not juicy, and tasteless......but

The sold strawberry is small size recently, and has juicy flesh.

レアもイチゴが好きなので、

美味しくなってうれしい。

Lea likes strawberry.

周りのタネがちょっとごっついので食感がやさしくないですけど

以前に比べたら上出来です！

However, the seeds are still hard and texture is not soft.

It goes beyond itself....good job.

楽しいキルト！Hauoli Quilt

今日は一ヶ月ぶりのキルトの日でした。

レアもちょっとおめかしして皆さんをお出迎え。

Mommy's quilt class started today.

Lea greeted mommy's students.

次の作品は何にしようかと考えるのも楽しい時間です。

これは、先日ドネーションセンターでみつけた壊れかかったサイドテーブル

なんと$0.99 とただ同然で手に入れたんですが、キルトをはめ込んで

上にガラスを置いたら素敵なテーブルになりますね。

Quilting time is enjoyable, and thinking about next is also delightful.

Mommy found this broken side table at Savers donation center, it's only $.99.

Mommy put her quilt, and she is going to put the glass on it.

What's a gorgeous side table!

大事な紙 valuable paper

世の中から無くなったら困るものはたくさんあります。が

日常生活でこれが無くなったら、現代社会人は本当に困るだろうなー

There are many valuable things in the world......

but this is really trouble.

今日はトイレットペーパーの日（アメリカでは）だそうです。

ニュージャージーで行われているPGAツアー最終日

Rickie Fowler はいつものように

全身オレンジのウェアーを着ていました。

Rickie Fowler is wearing his traditional head-to-toe orange 

for the final round of The Barclays.

ところが、今日リッキーと同じ組のJonas Blixt 

彼も同じくプーマがスポンサーなのですが、全く同じウェアーを着ています。

Jonas Blixt, who is also sponsored by Puma and is paired with Rickie Fowler, 

showed up in the same outfit

ティーショットもほとんど同じ所に。。。

Totally like twin....

Their tee shots are also similar.

解説者もスイングを比較して

「よく似てるねー」と楽しんでいました。

The commentator compared their swing and said

"looks similar"pleasantly.

実はこれは偶然ではなく

彼らがもし最終日に一緒にプレイする事になったら、

同じウェアーを着る事を以前から話していたそうです。

しかし今回、Jonas がプーマに同じウェアーを頼んだところ

ティータイムに間に合わなかったため Rickie から借りたのだとか。

Actually, this is not coincidental.

Jonas borrowed his outfit from Rickie.

They had been talking about going all-orange if they ever played together on a Sunday.

When Jonas found out they would be, he tried to get Puma to ship him the same outfit, 

it wouldn't arrive by their tee time.

最終スコアーはリッキーの方が良かったですけど。。

そして優勝はアダムスコットでした。

The result of Rickie is better than Jonas.

The winner is Adam Scott.

自己管理 self-managing

レアは時間になるときちんとご飯を催促します。

催促するという事は、お腹がすいているのでしょう

あげるとすぐに食べ始めます。。。。しかし

なぜか最後の一口を残すのです。

Lea demands her meal on time,

demand because wanted....she must be hungry.

However, Lea always leaves last one bite.

一般的に、犬はもらっただけ食べてしまうのに対し

猫は食べる量が決まっているので、それ以上は食べないそうです。

それ故、猫は一人で何日もお留守番ができ、犬は出来ないのです。

つまり、レアの行動は犬の習性に反しています。

Generally, dog eats all which it got,

contra, cat eats fixed amount.

Thus, cat is able to stay home alone for a few days.

Lea's behavior is against the habit of a dog.

レアが自分のご飯をコントロールして残しておく理由

それは、家族のご飯に参加するためです。

The reason that Lea controls her meal is

she intends to join the family meal.

当然のようにいつも座っています。

お裾分けがあっても無くても、家族のご飯が終わると

残した自分のご飯を食べますが

もちろん満足していればそれ以上食べようとはしません。

Even if she gets or not, she join until the family finish a dinner,

after that, she eats her leftover.......if she is full, she never eat it.

レアはしっかり家族の一員だと思っているので

このような行動をとるのでしょうね。

Lea think she is a member of the family.

サマーカット summer cut

レアをグルーミングに連れて行こうと予約してあったのですが

今はダメ！とドクターに言われてしまいました。

それにしても、このモコモコ。

蒸れて余計皮膚に悪そう。。。。

The appointment of Lea's grooming was canceled today,

because doctor said it's not good for these two weeks.

However, Lea is puffy-fluffy and swollen.

It seems not good for her skin.

 仕方ないのでマミィが切りました。

素直にはやらせてくれないので、足下とかきちんと切れなかったり

切り残しの部分もありますが、とりあえずさっぱり！

そして一回り小さくなっちゃったね。

Ok , no choice.

Mommy cut her hair today, but it is impossible that Lea is on her good behavior.

It is so hard to trim beautifully ,  but for now, this is enough.

Lea shrank.

医者替え。 new doctor

レアはCAに越して来てから、あまり皮膚の調子が良くない。

ここの所、マミィも構ってあげられなかったのでちょっとひどくなってしまいました。

今まで行っていた Banfield Pet Hospital があまり信用出来ないので別のドクターの所へ

何かのアレルギーだろうという事で、かゆみ止めの飲み薬を出してもらいました。

After moving to CA, the condition of Lea's skin is not good.

Recently, mommy was not able to take care of Lea enough,

Lea has rash today.

Mommy was not able to trust the doctor of Banfield Pet Hospital,

she brought Lea to other hospital.

Lea got a shot and medicine for anti-itch.

 射ってもらった注射のせいか、かなり眠そうです。

そういえば、マミィも原因不明の発疹が全身に出たとき

注射を射ってもらったら、かゆみはひいたけど、

まるで睡眠薬のように眠かった事を思い出しました。

Lea looks so tired because of shot.

Mommy remembered that she got a similar shot when she had rash on her whole body.

It worked but it made her soooo sleepy.

レアは食欲もあるし、お散歩も行ったのでだいじょうぶでしょう。

早く良くなるといいね。

Lea has good appetite, and went for a walk.

通常業務へ return to routine work

今日から学校がスタート

Back to school!!

上の子はハイスクール最高学年のシニアーに

下の子もジュニアーという大切な学年。

しっかり勉強して欲しいですね。

Older boys became senior today, and younger boy turns junior.

Both of them must work hard this year.

学年の最初は恒例のペーパーワーク

各教科の先生との誓約書で、親も承認したというサインをします。

Parents and student must do annual paperwork in the beginning of the school year.

These are contract between teacher and student, and parent does a signature of the approval。

レアも通常業務に戻り、今日も元気にお散歩です！

Lea returned to routine work, too.

SFだけど "Elysium"

今日は夏休み最終日

夏休み最後の映画「Elysium」を見に行きました。

マットデーモン主演のSF アクションです。

Today is the last day of summer holiday .

Boys went to the Si-fi action movie "Elysium", starring Matt Damon,

舞台は2154年、地球は人口過剰、環境汚染などで崩壊し

一部の富裕層がパラダイスのような人工宇宙ステーション"Elysium"で暮らしています。

富裕層は健康管理システムを持ち、どんな病気も直す事が出来ます。

その反面地球で暮す人たちは、多くがスペイン語を話し

飢えや病気に苦しんでいます。

これはまさにアメリカの現状です。

決して未来のフィクションではありません。

Set in the year 2154, the film takes its names from the space station.

Elysium is the home of the wealthy white people with a perfect health care system. 

Earth was ruined by overpopulated, polluted, 

and is the home of many Spanish-speaking people, of course, has no decent health care system.

This is not future story, it is the current situation of U.S.A indeed.

R 指定なので、ちょっとグロテスクなシーンもありましたが

一般評価通りなかなか面白かったです。

さすが、注目されている若手監督 Neill Blomkamp の作品です。

最近の近未来映画「Ovlibion 」も飛行機で見ましたが、つまらなかった。

どちらも最後はアルマゲドンみたいでしたが。。。

This film is R, there are grotesque scene,

but general review is good..... agree with it.

The director is Neil Blomkamp of "District 9"

Recent film "Oblivion" is a similar Si-fi action movie,  but it's dull.

The ending of both films were like "Armageddon".....

それにしても、マットデーモンって

こんなにアクションする俳優さんだったんだ

Is he recognized to be action star?

ふと。。。 drop...

CAに戻って来たら、今までと同じ生活が待っていて

今日もいつも通りにレアとお散歩に出かけました。

After retuning CA, regular life started again,

mommy went for a walk with Lea.

空を見上げたら、やっぱり悲しくなって

涙が出て来た。。。

When mommy looked up the sky,

tears welled up...

レアはそんなマミィを気遣うように何度も振り返り

一緒に歩いてくれました。

Lea turned around several times with concern.

一週間分？ make up for one week

空港からそのままレアをお迎えに行きました。

家に戻ってご飯の支度をしていると

少しでもマミィのそばにいようと足下に

Mommy went directly from airport to pick Lea up.

After returning home, Lea is always near mommy.

夕方、ご飯を食べようとしないので

食べさせてあげると、やっと食べ始めました。

Lea didn't want to eat her meal.....

mommy tried to hand-feed, Lea started to eat.

あららすっかり甘えん坊さん

Oh, dear! You're spoiled baby.
