チャンピオンシップ３日目の今日はFort Lauderdale Country Club で行われました。
まずは下の子。
ティーショットもセカンドショットも好調なのに
グリーン周りのアプローチ、パターが今一つ決まらず
なかなかパーが取れません。
JGA Championship day 3, at Fort Lauderdale Country Club.
First, younger boy started.
His shots were in good condition, however approach shot and patting were not good.
It's not easy to get par.
残り２ホールとなったところで、
４ホール終えた上の子がなかなかいいペースで隣のホールにやってきました。
ここからマミィは上の子について行こうと思った時
コース中に鳴り響いたホーン
When younger boy finished #7, older boy came to #5,
and then horn sounded.
このシーズン、かみなり雲が10マイル以内に近づいてくると
安全を確保するため競技は一時中断となります。
プレイヤーは全員クラブハウスで30分ほど待機となりました。
In this season, the tournament becomes the suspension to ensure the security
when a thundercloud nears less than 10 miles.
All the players wait in a clubhouse for approximately 30 minutes.
雲が通り過ぎ、プレイ再開と子供たちが一斉にコースへ出た直後
雨が降り始め、みるみる土砂降りに・・・
再開する間もなく中断となり、びしょ濡れになったプレイヤーは再び待機です。
After thundercloud passed, player went to their course,
soon after, it began to rain...... within seconds, there was a heavy downpour.
The player who became soaking wet waits again.
結局一時間半ほど中断した後、再開。
6ホールを終えた所で、上の子は4オーバー
このままいけば上位に入賞できるかも・・・・
いいショットが続いています。
After one and a half hours, they played again.
When older boy finished six holes, his score was +4.
His shots were still good.....he may win the high rank.
パー5の7番、セカンドをグリーン左に外したのですが
無理なくアプローチで よせられるところ。
ところがうち損ねてグリーンオーバーしブッシュの中へワンぺナとなりました。
ちょっと動揺したのか、再びアプローチミス。
トリプルボギーとなってしまいました。
次のパー3ではグリーン横バンカーに入れてしまい
これを思いっきり打ってリカバリーすることができませんでした。
最終ホールはきっちりとパーで終えましたが、上位入賞はならず。残念。
At #7 par 5, Older boy hit a second shot to left side of green.
It's not bad.
However, he missed it, the ball went into the bush of the other side,
he missed the approach shot after he got one penalty, and got triple boggy.
Next par 3, hit a sand trap....and he was not able to blast a ball out of a bunker.
The last hole, he got par ...... but he was not placed highly.
下の子は誕生日だったので、
ちょっと炸裂してくれる事を期待していたのですが・・・・こちらも残念でした。
でもふたりとも今後の課題をはっきり見据えることが出来たので
この夏最終目標、来週のトライアウトに向けしっかり練習してくれるかな？？？
Today is younger boy's birthday.
Mommy was expecting he got a hustle.......but not.
